So its been sometime since I wrote a blog, Since completing the Ironman in September I have been taking a break from any cycling or running training. Instead I have been focusing on weights and core strengthening (something I have wanted to do for a while but not had the time).

Well, this is it, three days until the Challenge Henley Iron Distance triathlon, 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile cycle and lastly a 26.2 mile run.
Do I feel ready, no, do I feel prepared…yes!

It has been a hot one this week, ranging between 27-30 degrees, which has been a real eye opener training, being British I can honestly say I am not used to training in this heat, although enjoyable, it does make endurance training twice as hard…

So, on Sunday the 2nd June I took part in the Outlaw Half Triathlon, which is a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile cycle and a 13.1 mile run, and amazingly completed it in 06:13:13!

This week has been all about the lead up to the Fareham Triathlon on Sunday, so training has been short and at speed, with plenty of recovery days in between.

The sun has been out and my training continues to build up, and I am loving the feeling of being physically tired when I go to bed each night, in my head it means my body is getting that much stronger :o)

It has been a tough week, the family is all back home which is awesome, but Sarah is still recovering from her operation, therefore I am on children, care and work duty.
