Holiday training blog - Part 1

By PaulChristie on 15 March 2013

I am lucky enough to be on my first holiday of the year, staying in a beautiful house near Bideford in Devon, but just because I am on hols, it doesn't mean my training stops, if anything my plan was to increase it!

We arrived late lunch time and the weather was awful, rain, windy and cold, but once I had unpacked the car, I got my kit together and headed of cross country towards the SW coastal path. The route crossed over farm fields that had really bad churned up mud, loose slate and shingle descents and even a water crossing, all before I hit the sea path. I wore my Vivo off-road trail shoes, and it was lucky I did. It was the first true test of the shoes in these conditions and they were awesome. once thing to note when running down extreme off-road trails, that at some point you have to go back up, if you look at the attached picture, the bottom left is taken from sea level and the very top hill in the distance is where I need to get too!

All in all a really refreshing and satisfying run :o)

Saturday morning saw me on the turbo trainer at 08:30 for an hour before going for an extremely hilly 3 mile run, I also got a chance for Vblog:-

The plan is to get out each day and get some serious training in, so will post more as the week goes on
